Xbox has launched a new Backward Compatibility on PC initiative, bringing a selection of classic Xbox games that were previously exclusive to the console platform to PC and compatible handheld devices for the first time.

The program begins with four original Xbox-era titles, marking the first step in Microsoft's broader effort to preserve older Xbox games and expand their availability beyond console hardware.

The initial lineup includes:

• BLiNX: The Time Sweeper

• Conker: Live and Reloaded

• Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge

• Fuzion Frenzy

All four games are now available to purchase on PC and are included with Xbox Game Pass plans. Players who already own digital licenses for these titles on Xbox consoles will also retain access to the PC versions through the program.

Classic Xbox Games Receive New PC Features

Beyond simply bringing older titles to a new platform, the PC versions introduce additional options designed for modern hardware.

The updated releases include customizable graphics settings, along with expanded language and audio options. The games are also designed to run on current PC hardware and compatible gaming handheld devices.

Xbox vice president of next generation Jason Ronald described the launch as the beginning of a larger preservation effort.

“This marks the beginning of a broader effort to preserve Xbox games from the past and bring them to PC over time,” Ronald said.

Microsoft has not announced which additional Xbox titles will join the program in the future, but the company says the initiative will continue expanding over time.
