A new GTA 5 singleplayer mod Jailbreak by XmanStudios brings GTA RP-style prison consequences to the base game. Players arrested are sent to Bolingbroke Penitentiary to serve time based on their wanted level, with prison buses, uniforms, lockdowns, guard reactions and escape mechanics, adding real risk to criminal actions.

Getting arrested in GTA 5 normally means little more than losing your wanted level and paying a small price for your crimes. However, roleplay servers have long treated imprisonment as a much more serious consequence, and now a new singleplayer mod is bringing that experience to the base game.

Created by XmanStudios, the Jailbreak mod introduces a full prison sentence system to GTA 5's singleplayer mode. Instead of simply respawning after being arrested, players are sent to Bolingbroke Penitentiary, where they must serve time based on the wanted level they had when captured.

The system takes inspiration from GTA RP servers, where criminal actions can lead to actual jail time rather than a quick reset. Depending on the severity of the offense, players may find themselves spending longer periods inside the prison while navigating the challenges of avoiding conflicts with other inmates and following prison rules.

According to the mod's description, Jailbreak includes several features designed to make the experience feel more like a full prison simulation. These include prison bus transportation, processing sequences, prisoner uniforms, sentence timers, cell access points, lockdown events, guard reactions, and basic escape mechanics.

During normal prison operations, guards and inmates will move around the facility. However, players who cause trouble, enter restricted areas, or attempt to escape can trigger a lockdown, prompting prison guards to respond.

While GTA 5’s original singleplayer mode has always allowed players to commit crimes with limited long-term consequences, Jailbreak adds a new layer of risk by making arrests something players may actually want to avoid.
